Directory
Feature: Faster pages
Directory pages open several times faster. A page seen for the first time took one to seven seconds before; now it takes well under one, and pages seen before come in about a fifth of a second.

Feature: Roads and sois find their places directly
A road's or soi's places come straight from the street's own ways and addresses, instead of every place in Thailand being checked against the street. "Where to eat" on Sukhumvit Road went from seven seconds to half of one.
Feature: Places stored by where they are
The places of an area now lie together in the database, so a page reads only its own area's places instead of all of Thailand's, about twice as fast.
Feature: Counts worked out once
The numbers in the filter panel ("Chiang Mai (1,234)") are counted once for every province, district and subdistrict, instead of on each page. Area pages also keep their roads, sois and landmarks, and street pages the areas they lie in, until an editor or a new import changes them.
Pages
Feature: Changelog
What's new on soinow, release by release with screenshots, at changelog.soinow.net. Every page links it in its footer, which now looks the same everywhere.

Under the hood
Feature: Fewer crawler visits
Crawlers are kept off the map's place links and the further pages of long lists, which they fetched by the thousand an hour, at times slowing the site for everyone.
Feature: Database settings
The database keeps more of its data in memory and knows it runs on an SSD, so it reads an area's places by index instead of scanning all of them.
