Start page
Feature: Most visited
The start page ranks the most visited pages of yesterday, the last 7 or the last 30 days. Only real visits count: crawlers, scripts and prefetching are left out.
Directory
Feature: Fast pages
Directory pages keep their place lists and counts once computed, so a province opens in a moment instead of seconds, and name filters use an index.
Under the hood
Feature: Live at soinow.net
The site runs on its own server. Visits are counted from the server's log, anonymised, with no tracking script in the pages. The CMS answers only on cms.soinow.net, and search engines get a sitemap and robots.txt.
Feature: Cached map tiles
Map tiles and static files are served with long-lived caching, so the map opens faster on the second visit.
