Release v0.9

Released

Guides arrive: travel guides and texts about places, written and reviewed in the CMS, with photos, station cards, maps and lists of places. Area pages list their railways, and funiculars join the map.

Guides

Feature: Guides and texts about places

soinow now has room for writing: travel guides at soinow.net/guides, and texts about destinations that appear on their page above the things to find ("About Bangkok"). Editors write them in an editor that shows the page as it will look; an admin reviews every text before it goes online, and a page stays online unchanged while its next version is being written and reviewed.

Feature: Stations, maps and places in guides

Guides can show other soinow pages: a card of a station, line, area or street with where it lies and its facts, its map, or the first places of a list (where to eat near Asok BTS Station) with a link to all of them. They always show the current data, so a guide never goes out of date with the directory.

Feature: Photos in guides

Guides and texts about places can show photos, with a caption and the photographer's credit. Photos are stored without their location data and in sizes that suit phones and large screens; pages show no images from other sites, so reading a guide sends nothing to anyone else.

Directory

Feature: Railways on area pages

Pages of destinations, provinces and districts list the railway lines through them and their stations, with who runs them, their codes and whether a line is in service, under construction or planned.

The rail lines through Bangkok

Feature: Clearer station and line titles

Station pages are titled by what they are, "Asok BTS Station" or "Hua Hin Railway Station", and their categories "Where to eat near Asok BTS Station"; line pages "Hotel along the Northern Line".

Feature: Gold Line stations

The Gold Line's three stations were missing from its page; Krung Thon Buri is now one station for the Silom and Gold Lines.

Map

Feature: Funiculars

The funiculars up to Wat Phrathat Doi Suthep, Khao Wang in Phetchaburi, Khao Tang Kuan in Songkhla and the one on Koh Chang show on the map with Organic Maps' funicular icon, and their stations have pages.
